Officials in Nangarhar province predict a 10-fold increase in date fruits harvest during the current year.
The provincial officials are saying that the date fruits harvest will reach five thousand tons this year, ten times more than previous year.
The head of Nangarhar Canal Parvez Ali said the authorities have shared a plan with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to further boost the date fruits harvest in Nangarhar.
Ali further added that date palm trees exist in 40 acres of land in Nangarhar Canal which would be further expanded based on the new plan shared with the UAE Embassy.
He also added that the farmers have planted four different types of date palm trees in Nangarhar Canal and two of them had good harvest.
Ali also added that the provincial agriculture authorities will expand the palm trees garden of the two varieties of date palms which have had good harvest.
