HELMAND, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police (ANP) has arrested at least one suspected terrorist during in an operation in Lashkar Ghah city, said the Ministry of Interior Affair in a statement Thursday night.

According to the statement, the suspect is involved in a number of targeted killings across the province.

“ANP arrested a terrorist in PD#2, Lashkar Gah City of Helmand province,” said the MoIA in a tweet. “The terrorist was involved in many targeted killings.”

Officials did not provide further details, but said the “ANP seized two pistols, one motorcycle, one cell phone and some amount of ammunition.”

While a full detail on the identity of the suspect remains unclear, the country is known for countless terrorism by the Taliban insurgents.

Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
