Officials Foil ‘Several Attacks’ in Uruzgan Province

URUZGAN, Afghanistan – Afghan National Defense Security Forces foiled several attacks planned in Gizab and Trinkot districts of Uruzgan provinces Sunday, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.  

During the clashes, at least 10 Taliban were killed and further 14 wounded.

“Several TB attacks were prevented in Gizab and Trinkot districts of Uruzgan province, yesterday,” said MoD in a tweet. “10 TB were killed and 14 others were wounded during reciprocal operations of AAN.

Authorities did not provide further details on the attack but said at least 17 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were discovered from Zabul provinces.

“Also, 17 IEDs which were placed by TB on public roads in Kandahar and Zubal provinces were discovered,” MoD added.
