Obama greets Karzai on Afghanistan’s 95th Independence Day

The presidential palace media office said a letter was sent by President Barack Obama to his counterpart President Hamid Karzai, congratulating him and the Afghan people on the 95th independence day of Afghanistan.
Obama hailed the Afghan people, both men and women, who went in millions to vote and take part in a democratic process.
He reiterated Washington’s support to Afghanistan and said the United States is waiting to witness the outcome of the elections.
Obama also pledged long term support by Washington to reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is celebrating its 95th Independence Day on Tuesday which is equivalent to 19th of August, when Afghanistan achieved full independence from the reigns of British Empire in 1919.
