The National Procurement Commission approved contracts for eight new projects having a total value of 821 million Afghanis.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the latest meeting of the National Procurement Commission was organized on Saturday evening and was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The statement further added that the contracts approved during the meeting include procurement of consumption materials for the health facilities of the Ministry of Public Health and reforms project for the Ministry of Higher Education.

Other contracts approved during the meeting include consultancy project for the design work of the first and second section of Qaisar-Laman road having a length of 28 kilometers, procurement of the spares and services of the generators of the Ministry of Defense, and procurement of firewood for the kitchens of the army units and divisions for the fiscal year 1397.

The National Procurement Commission also approved the contract for the fiber optics project to be implemented in 43 sites in the central and strategic networks of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

Representatives from the parliamentary commissions for budgetary and financial affairs, national economic commissions, Integrity watch Afghanistan, SIGAR, and Resolute Support also participated in the meeting, ARG Palace said in its statement.
