An airstrike in northern Balkh province killed at least 14 Taliban militants including Gul Nabi Mubarez, the shadow district chief of Taliban for chimtal.

The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement the security forces conducted the airstrike after pinpointing a group of Taliban militants in Chimtal district at around 10:15 pm on Friday night.

The statement further added that the airstrikes also wounded 20 Taliban militants and destroyed more than 10 motorcycles and other military equipment.

The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that Gul Nabi Mubarez was one of the most brutal Taliban commanders in Chimtal district.

According to Shaheen Corps, Gul Nabi Mubariz and his fighters were looking to carry out attacks against election sites in Balkh province.
