Badghis-Police headquartersNine border policemen have gone missing after a Taliban assault on their check post in northwestern Badghis province, an official said on Thursday.

Meerwais Meerzakwal, spokesman for the acting governor of Badghis province said a group of Taliban attacked a security check post in Muri Cheq area of Bala Murghab District last night.

He added that nine border policemen belonging to the same check post are missing after the attack last night.

Taliban have not yet commented on the report. Security situation has been deteriorating since the past two months in the country. In the past two months at least 150 people have lost lives to terrorist attacks in parts of the country. The fate of dozens of others who are kidnapped is still unknown.
