Officials from the two electoral teams have said that the technical and political members of the two teams are engaged in negotiations.
The officials further added that audit and recount of votes along with the cleaning of fraudulent votes from clean votes along with the release of preliminary results on scheduled time are the main agendas of the meetings.
Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai said Monday that the preliminary vote results for the runoff vote should not be further delayed and must be releaed by independent election commission on Monday.
The partial results was due to be released by IEC last Wednesday; however, the election officials said the release has been delayed due to the audit and recount of votes in 1930 polling stations.
Ghani on Saturday welcomed the audit and recount of votes in 1930 polling stations, but he insisted on the release of partial results on Monday and said the people of Afghanistan have became frustrated with more delays.
He also warned that the deadlock over elections have incurred millions of dollars in loss to the economy of the country and various projects have been suspended or delayed.
