The Afghan security forces have killed nearly 500 Taliban militants during their operations in northern Faryab province.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the security forces killed the militants in various districts of Faryab in past one month.

The statement further added that the security forces conducted several planned operations, night raids and targeted airstrikes during the period.

Furthermore, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces targeted the militants in Ghormach, Khwaja Sabzposh, Sherin Tagab, Pashtunkot, Bulchiragh, Dawlatabad and Andkoi districts.

The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that the security forces killed 481 militants and wounded 273 others including 13 of their commanders.

Meanwhile, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces also arrested 56 militants during the same operations.

However, the 209th Shaheen Corps has not commented regarding the security personnel casualties.

The Taliban group yet to commented regarding the claimed casualties inflicted on group’s militants in Faryab province.
