According to the preliminary reports, at least eight people were killed and around 35 others were wounded in the blast.
A local security official, Imtiaz Shah, quoted by local newspapers, said members of the Frontier Corps (FC) were also among those killed or injured.
Shah further added that the incident took place after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the vehicle of the FC personnel in the vicinity of heavily guarded Quetta district courts.
Pakistan’s leading Geo News earlier reported that nine people were killed including two FC personnel and forty others were injured.
No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident which follows by a deadly attack on a Bacha Khan University in Charsadda area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
At least 21 people were killed and around 50 others were wounded after a group of insurgents launched coordinated attack on Bacha Khan University last month.
Omar Mansoor, identifying himself from the Geedar group of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for attack.
