The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has seized two weapons catches of insurgents in central Logar province.
Officials say one of the depots was discovered in Pakhtoonabad area of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, while the other one was intercepted in the jurisdiction of Khwakhi district last night.
Two rocket launchers, 12 bombs, two rounds of artillery, two boxes of ammos for PK machine gun and other materials were found in the depots.
Two individuals have been arrested on suspicion.
Located some 60 km south of Kabul, Logar is comparatively a restive province of Afghanistan where Taliban, insurgents loyal to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-e-Islami and Daesh are operating.
However, it is yet unknown what group the weapons depot belonged to.
