NDS detains Taliban’s deputy intelligence chief for Bamyan province

Local sources in Bamyan said that Qari Abdul Jalil Omari Taliban’s deputy intelligence chief along with an accompanying Taliban affiliate was captured in the province.

Sayed Anwar Rahmati, the governor of Bamyan said that the Taliban deputy intelligence chief for Bamyan was captured by the National Directorate of Security members on Sunday.

Rahamati said that Qari Jalil Omari was one of the 5,000 prisoners released as of the US-Taliban agreement aimed at launching intra-Afghan talks.

Omari rejoined the Taliban after his release, and was active in many Taliban operations.

The General Directorate of National Security announces the arrest of a nine-member group of Taliban assassinations in Kabul.

Moreover, the National Directorate of Security in a statement on Monday announced detention of a nine-member group of Taliban assassins in Kabul.

NDS stated that the Taliban sleeper cell members were captured in Kabul, the members were named Mohammad Naser, Mohammad Juma, Sherullah, Saifullah, Abdul Ahad, Sharafatullah, Rahmatullah, and Abdullah.

These insurgents were reportedly involved in targeted assassinations of military personnel, government employees, and civilians.

This comes as Afghan security forces captured Hassan-ul-Rahman a Pakistani national in the Taliban ranks in the city of Jalalabad in Nangarhar province, the governor’s office told media.
