NATO chief met Abdullah, discussed the peace process

The NATO chief, Jens Stoltenberg met Dr. Abdullah Abdullah soon after his arrival to Kabul on Saturday, CE office said in a statement.

According to the statement, Abdullah has appreciated Stoltenberg’s presence in Kabul during a historic day that a peace deal is being signed between the U.S and the Taliban in Doha.

Abdullah has also thanked NATO for its support to the ANSDF in the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan, the statement added.

Stoltenberg has said that NATO will continue its support to the Afghan forces and will remain beside the Afghan nation, said the statement.

This comes as the NATO secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg and the U.S secretary of defence arrived in Kabul on Saturday to announce a joint declaration together with the Afghan government in reference to the peace deal which is being signed between the U.S and the Taliban in Doha today.
