NATO airstrike kill 7 Taliban militants in Wardak province

Wardak provinceleast seven suspected Taliban militants were killed following a NATO airstrike in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan.

According to local government officials, the airstrike was carried out late Friday evening in Jalriz district.

Provincial governor spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani confirming the report said at least seven Taliban militants were killed during the airstrike.

Mr. Khogyani further added that the Taliban militants who were killed during the airstrike were frequently targeting Afghan and coalition security forces in this province.

He said the airstrike did not incur any casualties to local residents. Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the incident.

In a separate incident in eastern Kunar province, a Taliban group commander was killed and another Taliban militant was injured during clashes with the Afghan security forces.

Local officials said clashes took place in Mango district late Friday evening.
