NATO airstrike KandaharAt least eleven suspected Taliban militants were killed following a NATO airstrike in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Thursday.

According to local government officials, the airstrike was carried out by NATO late Thursday evening in Ghorak district, leaving at least eleven Taliban militants dead.

Ghorak district chief, Daru Khan confirming the report said the Taliban militants were looking to carry out attack on district compound on Thursday night.

Mr. Khan further added that NATO forces were informed of the Taliban militants plans and an airstrike was carried out against the Taliban militants.

He confirmed that eleven Taliban militants were killed in the air raid and several others were injured.

Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the incident.
