Thursday, November 26, 2011 – Pakistani security officials on Saturday said, at least eight Pakistan soldiers were killed following an air raid by NATO early Saturday morning.

The officials further added, the incident took place in the Mohmand tribal area near the Afghan border around 2:00 am local time after NATO helicopters targeted a military checkpost.

The officials also said, around 4 other Pakistan soldiers were also wounded during the incident.

This comes  US helicopters accidentally killed two Pakistani soldiers near the border last year, prompting Pakistan to temporarily close the border to supplies shipped through the country to Nato troops in Afghanistan.

A Pakistani military spokesman said the attack early Saturday was “unprovoked and indiscriminate.”

Meanwhile NATO officials in Afghanistan said, the international coalition is aware of an “incident” and is in the process of gathering information.
