The National Security Adviser of Afghanistan Dr. Hamdullah Mohib arrived in Iran for an official visit, the Office of the National Security Council (ONSC) said.
According to a statement released by ONSC, Dr. Mohib is leading a delegation of high level government officials during his one day visit to Iran.
The statement further added that Dr. Mohib will participate in a regional conference of National Security Advisers hosted by Iran.
The National Security Advisers from Iran, India, Russia, and China would also participate in the conference, the Office of the National Security Council added.
The participants of the meeting are expected to hold talks on regional cooperation in the fight against terrorism, specifically focusing on the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
The Afghan National Security Adviser Dr. Hamdullah Mohib would also meet with his counterparts on the sideline of the conference, ONSC said in its statement, adding that Dr. Mohib will hold talks on key and strategic issues of mutual interest.
