Nadery: Taliban Are Not Willing to Engage in Peace Talks

A member of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan peace negotiating team member, Nader Nadery tweeted, that the Taliban are not willing to engage in peace dialogues.

He tweeted, it has been 9 days that formal meetings are not held.

Nadery stressed that “peace and ending” the violence are the upmost priorities to people and the Afghan government.

“To achieve this noble goal the Peace Negotiating Team of IRoA is committed and present in Doha,” Nadery added.

This comes as deputy Taliban Leader, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar led a delegation to Iran, Mohammad Naeem Taliban Spokesman said on Tuesday.

The Taliban delegation will Talk to Iranian officials in regards to the current political situation, security conditions in the region, bilateral relations, and the situation of Afghan refugees.
