Mumbai police seized 191kg heroin smuggled from Afghanistan through Chabahar port, Indian news agencies reported on Monday.

A large amount of heroin worth over 133 million US dollars was concealed in painted plastic pipes to look like bamboo and declared it as Ayurvedic medicines.

So far six people including two custom house agents, one importer and a financier from Delhi have been detained in connection to case.

The investigations indicate that the accused have smuggled similar quantities of heroin in the past as well.

On the 31st of January, 194kg of heroin were seized by the Punjab police and six persons including an Afghan national were arrested in connection to the smuggling case.
