The Afghanistan Islamic Movement Fidai Mahaz, a splinter group of the Taliban group in Afghanistan has claimed that the Supreme Leader of the Taliban group Mullah Mohammad Omar was poisoned to death.
The splinter group of the Taliban in Afghanistan which confirmed the death of Mullah Omar for the first time has also claimed that Mullah Omar was killed based on a conspiracy involving the group’s current leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.
A statement by the group said Mullah Omar was eliminated following the opening of the group’s liaison office in Qatar which sparked serious argunment between him and Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.
The statement further added that Mullah Mansoor replaced the medicine of Mullah Omar with poisonous medicine imported from Dubai in a bid to gradually take his life.
According to Fidai Mahaz, Mullah Omar was killed three days after using the poisonous medicine.
The group following a statement earlier last month said Taliban leaders Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor and Gull Agha assassinated Mullah Omar.
The group’s spokesman Qari Hamza said Mullah Omar was killed two years ago in the same month of July.
Hamza claimed that the group has evidences to prove their claims that Mullah Omar was killed by Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor and Gull Agha.
The latest claim by Fidai Mahaz comes amid deep rifts within senior commanders regarding the selection of new leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor.
Although, Taliban spokesman announced that the central committee announced Mullah Mansoor, the Deputy to Mullah Omar, to be the successor to the “Emir” but sources say there are deep differences within the senior commanders over the selection.
