Hotak faced his maiden defeat in an ACB event organized in Tajikistan on Saturday night facing the Russian rival Denis Karkov.
According to reports, Karkov managed to end the fight in his favor by defeating Hotak in the first round.
In the meantime, Mubariz in a statement posted online, said last night’s defeat will not have a major impact on the merits and talents of Hotak.
Mubariz whose relations had deteriorated with Hotak few months back, said he challenges Karkov for the next ACB fight.
He said the decision to challenge Karkov was taken after consulting with his team and vowed to take revenge of Hotak’s defeat and the raise the flag of Afghanistan in ACB.
Hotak has participated in at least twenty MMA fights but embraced the first defeat last night.
He has previously defeated his two rivals from Russia with the last victory recorded in the mid-October last year which followed almost four months after he had defeated his rival from the same country.
