A traffic accident between a motorcycle and a motorized tricycle in the Faryab province of northern Afghanistan left one person dead and four others injured, according to local sources.

According to the sources, the traffic mishap happened at around 2:00 PM on Monday, the 29th of August in the market of Shirin Tagab district of Faryab province.

The accident happened as a Zarang motorized tricycle – turned into an auto rickshaw – collided with a motorcycle in the Shirin Tagab market.

While the motorcyclist lost his life in the traffic accident, the auto rickshaw’s four passengers suffered serious injuries.

The newly brought patients’ conditions are critical, according to health officials of the hospital where the injured have been taken to receive medical attention.

Two people were killed and four others were injured when a fast-moving vehicle swerved on the Herat-Badghis route in western Afghanistan earlier on Saturday.

A car drove off the highway between Herat and Qala-e-Naw, the provincial capital of Badghis province, resulting in two fatalities and four injuries, according to a newsletter issued by the chief of police’s office.

The recent increase in deadly traffic accidents in Afghanistan has been strongly linked to driver immaturity and negligence.

Speeding, dangerous driving conditions, reckless drivers, and a lack of traffic signals are additional prominent elements that greatly contribute to Afghanistan’s daily traffic fatalities.
