Local authorities in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan said, at least 30 missiles were fired in Dangam district of eastern Kunar province on Wednesday night.

Provincial governor Syed Fazlullah Wahidi confirming the report said the shelling did not incur any casualties to local residents however agricultural fields were damaged.

Mr. Wahidi further added the wild fire which sparked as a result of the cross border shelling in Kunar province two days back jungles has stopped.

According to reports at least 4000 heavy shells and missiles have been fired in eastern regions of the country from the Pakistan soil during the past few months.

Reports suggest at least 30 people were killed or injured following the cross border incursion.
