The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that the problem of besieged security forces in the Jalrez district of Maidan Wardak province has been resolved and the injured have been shifted to Kabul.

The ministry stated the commandos conducted a night operation in Jalrez district of Wardak province Sunday night, resulting in heavy casualties to the Taliban, and rescued the soldiers who were ambushed by the Taliban.

Commandos transported the wounded soldiers to Kabul for treatment and delivered food, and supplies to the defending soldiers, the statement reads.

Earlier, a video was posted on social media in which a soldier asked the Ministry of Defense for help in transporting food, supplies, and transport for the wounded soldiers.

The video provoked a backlash from the Afghan people, who called on the Ministry to provide immediate assistance to the troops.
