The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the Holiday for Eid al-Fitr on Saturday, the 13th of April.

Samiullah Ibrahimi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban administration, announced on Tuesday, April 9th, through a statement sent to Khaama Press, that Saturday is a public holiday. According to the decision of the Taliban’s Supreme Court, Saturday is equivalent to the fourth day of Eid ul-Fitr.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs spokesperson stated in the announcement: “Next Sunday, April 13th is a public holiday for Eid ul-Fitr.”

This comes as the Supreme Court of the Taliban administration announced Tuesday that April 9 was the last day of Ramadan and Wednesday is Eid ul-Fitr.

Previously in Afghanistan, three days of Eid were celebrated and these days were public holidays.
