Only a day after the resignation of Afghanistan Independent Election Commission (IEC) Mohammad Yousuf Nooristani, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum also took the bold step to leave his office.
Since yesterday, there were rumors on social media about Dawoud Shah Saba’s resignation without official confirmation.
The report has been now confirmed by Mohayoudin Noor, spokesperson for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
However, he has not provided further details into it.
Saba reportedly submitted his resignation to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Monday.
But it is not yet accepted by the President.
Although, officials have not yet provided a reason for the resignation but some media reports suggest that it was because of interference in Saba’s duties.
Saba had assumed charges of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum about a year ago.
