earthquake in KabulA mild earthquake jolted Kabul city this afternoon with epicenter of the quake reported in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.0 with the epicenter recorded in Jurm district having a location of 36.580°N 70.937°E and depth of 219 km.

This comes as a magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted Afghanistan as well as parts of Pakistan and India on Saturday but no casualties or damages were reported.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) also reported a magnitude 4.2 earthquake in Afghanistan on Thursday with epicenter recorded in Jurm district of northeastern Badakhshan province.

According to USGS, the location of the quake on Thursday has been recorded at 36.557°N 70.820°E having a depth of 198.3 km.

Meanwhile, reports emerging from Pakistani suggests that the earthquake jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, other tribal regions and Kashmir with the magnitude of the quake reported to be 5.9.
