The Central Bank of Argentina is reviewing a proposal to place the image of Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentina National Football team and Paris Saint-Germain player on the Argentine peso following the 2022 Qatar World Cup glory.  

According to El Financiero, the Mexican national daily newspaper, officials of the Central Bank are studying options for celebrating the historic coronation of the Argentine team in the World Cup in Qatar, as happened after winning the 1978 World Cup, where commemorative commercial coins were offered.

The Central Bank has the option to print Messi’s image on the 1000 Peso note, whereas the officials in Argentina prefer to show the number “10” which begins with the number 1000, and the word “La Scaloneta” symbolizes the winning team of coach Lionel Scaloni.

The World Cup 2022 victory for Lionel Messi’s national team came with lots of ups and downs. Football gurus predicted teams such as Brazil, England, and France as the favorites without counting much on Messi’s Argentina. With the result of the group stage for Argentina, losing to Saudi Arabia, Football experts were right to some extent.

Losing to Saudi Arabia was a big blow for the Argentine players to get back on track if they wanted to win the World Cup Qatar. The Argentine national team won the 2022 Qatar World Cup title by beating France on penalties in the final match that took place at Lusail Stadium on December 18.

Lionel Messi, the South American Football icon deserved to win the World Cup 2022 title according to many Football experts. During his tenure, Messi has led his national team to win several national and continental league titles finally extending with World Cup glory, the most prestigious title in the football world.

Millions of Argentinians welcomed their football national team upon their return from Qatar in Buenos Aires the capital of Argentina.
