Paris St-Germain thrashed Nantes 4-0 to win the Trophee des Champions in Christophe Galtier’s first game as manager.

Galtier replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the end of last season and enjoyed a comfortable win in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Neymar set up Lionel Messi’s opener before curling in a free-kick.

Sergio Ramos made it three with a backheel before Neymar was fouled by Jean-Charles Castelletto, who was sent off, and scored the penalty.

Ligue 1 champions PSG have now won nine of the past 10 Trophees des Champions, the French equivalent of the Community Shield. Nantes won the French Cup to qualify for the match.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions were helped by stellar performances from Lionel Messi and Neymar, who contributed three of the goals between them – while Sergio Ramos also popped up to score from the back.

Messi combined perfectly with Neymar to open the scoring after 22 minutes, while the Brazilian doubled the advantage in first half injury time after firing home a free-kick that left Alban Lafont with no chance.

It was a welcome sight for PSG, as they failed to score a single goal from a direct free kick last season.

Ramos all but wrapped up proceedings with the third in the 57th minute. With his back to goal, the defender invented a back-heel that left Nantes with their hands in their heads.

Neymar‘s second of the night came from the penalty spot with eight minutes remaining, as PSG secured their 11th Trophee des Champions, and ninth in the past 10 years.
