The Afghan Air Force (AAF) carried out a series of airstrikes on Taliban hideouts in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan leaving at least three militants dead or wounded.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in the North said the latest airstrikes were carried out in the vicinity of Qala-e-Zal district with the help of the MD-530 helicopters.

According to Shaheen Corps, the Taliban hideouts were targeted in Saleh Abad village and Tabor Guzar areas.

At least one Taliban insurgent was killed in the air raids and two others were wounded, the Shaheen Corps said, adding that a vehicle and two motorcycles were also destroyed.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regardig the report so far.

This comes as counter-terrorism operations are underway in various parts of the country including the northern and northeastern provinces.

Both the Afghan and US air forces conduct regular airstrikes on Taliban positions as ground forces are engaged in clearance operations.

Kunduz is among the relatively volatile provinces in the north where the Taliban insurgents are active in some of its parts and often reports of clashes and attacks emerge from the province.
