This is the second earthquake within 10 hours; the first earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 4.0, 69 Km east of Faizabad, Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, on Monday.

“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.0, Occurred on 22-5-2023, 1:52 am local time, Lat: 37.04 & Long: 71.35, Depth: 10Km, Location Faizabad, Badakhshan province, Afghanistan,” The Indian National Center for Seismology (NCS) tweeted.

Natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, torrential rain, and flooding are widespread in Afghanistan.

Due to a lack of infrastructure and a proper management system, the country’s severity and damage from natural disasters are massive.

As a result, additional safety measures and precautions are required to decrease the severity of the disaster, particularly in the north and northeast, including the capital city of Kabul.
