A pregnant woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Maimana, according to local Taliban officials in Faryab province.
The Taliban officials claimed the 19-year-old woman, who was carrying a seven-month-old baby in her womb, was killed by her husband on Monday, June 13.
The Taliban’s director of Information and Culture in Faryab, Shamsullah Mohammadi, said the murderer fled the scene after the murder and that efforts were underway to capture him.
Family disputes, according to the Taliban’s Director of Information and Culture, are to blame for the killings.
The number of family killings has been on the rise recently. A man shot nine members of his family yesterday at noon.
Before fleeing the scene, the killer gunned down nine members of his family, including his wife, children, and father-in-law.
In addition to that, in Helmand province, a man beheaded his wife and three-month-old son with a knife.
