A 35-year-old woman was murdered in Kapisa province of northeastern Afghanistan by a member of her husband’s family, local Taliban security officials said.
According to the Taliban local authorities, the event took place on Tuesday, November 15 in the Kaloota village of Hessa Duwum Kohistan district of Kapisa province.
The spokesperson for the Taliban police chief office in Kapisa province stated that the woman, 35, was killed by her husband’s brother with a hunting rifle.
The cause of what triggered the man to kill his brother’s wife with a hunting rifle still remains a mystery. While the Taliban officials said that an investigation is still underway, no one has been detained in connection to the case.
This occurs at a time when tales of domestic violence, mysterious killings, honor killings, and an increase in criminality have all escalated since the Taliban took over the country, despite the group’s assurances of establishing and maintaining security.
