Kabul police say an eight-year-old girl was raped in Kabul on Monday.

Ferdaws Faramarz, a spokesman for the Kabul Police Command, said the incident took place yesterday in the Kart-e-Sakhi area of ​​the third district of Kabul province.

Faramarz added that the person accused of rape had been arrested by Kabul police, the suspect identifies himself as a guard and a university student.

Kabul police have not further provided any details in regards to this cowardly act.

On the other hand, the girl’s mother in an interview with a radio program said that a “Qari” (reciter) who was teaching children had asked her eight-year-old daughter to register for learning the Holy book of Muslims Quran but he later raped her child by closing her mouth.
