Paris Saint-Germain finally did what we have been waiting for them to do for months with a 4-1 thrashing of Club Brugge to close out their UEFA Champions League Group A campaign in style on Tuesday.
Mbappe all but put the game to bed inside seven minutes, scoring twice in quick succession for the home side.
Lionel Messi also scored twice, one outside the box and one from the penalty spot, making it a 4-1 victory in the final game of the Champions League.
Kylian Mbappe became the youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals as Paris St-Germain rounded off Group A with a win over Club Bruges.
Although the result counted for next to nothing given the makeup of the group, it was refreshing to see the star-studded Parisien outfit finally live up to their billing and dominate an opponent which has rarely been the case domestically or in Europe.
“Nothing was at stake, but the Champions League is still the Champions League,” said Mbappe post-match.
“It was a very good game,” added Pochettino. “We started very well. The players on the pitch connected well. We put together some good sequences. We deserved this. I really liked how we played great football in a great atmosphere.”
