Afghan President Ashraf Ghani meets with Afghan prominent politicians and Jihadists on Saturday and agreed upon ending the ongoing war and permanent and just peace in Afghanistan.

The consultative meeting was presided by President Ghani in Presidential Palace.

The statement released from Presidential Palace (ARG) reads that the participants of the so-called consultative meeting agreed on three items.

The get-together is overtly at a critical time as the Afghan government is repeatedly accused of not having an internal consensus to deal with the Taliban at the negotiating table. The meeting is held probably days after the follow-up meeting between the Afghan government and the Taliban.

The three items outlined in the statement include putting an end to the current war and embracing a just and durable peace. It further reads that the Afghan government has sacrificed for the cause and will continue to. Afghanistan’s high council of national reconciliation was also applauded for its efforts in establishing peace.

The second item outlines that protecting territorial integrity, infrastructures, joint values, women and other people’s rights is the obligation of the Afghan government and added to defend the above-mentioned ones against any offense.

Afghan National Defense and Security Forces along with the mobilization of people were too commended in dealing with offenses and terror attacks.

The press release also stated that Politicians and Jihadists expressed their support to ANDSF and Afghan people’s mobilization in support to the forces.
