The Ministry of Justice of the de facto administration has announced that the Commission for Prevention of Land Grabbing is working on “examining the lands grabbed from Hindu citizens.”
In its newsletter issued on Sunday, March 9th, the Ministry stated that the Commission for Prevention of Land Grabbing and Retrieval of Grabbed Lands has initiated the process of examining lands grabbed from Hindu citizens across the country.
The newsletter mentions that this commission has instructed technical teams in the provinces and districts to “stabilize and identify lands of Hindu citizens that have been forcibly taken or are likely to be grabbed through fake deeds.”
The Ministry of Justice of the Taliban government added that reports from the appointed teams, after the stabilization and identification of grabbed lands, will be reviewed by the commission, and necessary decisions will be made.
The newsletter states that “protection of absentee lands (lands whose owners are not present in the country) is the responsibility of the commission.”
The Ministry further stated that the Commission for Prevention of Land Grabbing and its technical teams in the provinces will thoroughly investigate the issue of land grabbing from Hindu citizens, so that if any grabbing has occurred or there is an attempt to grab, it will be prevented and the grabbed lands will be returned to their rightful owners.
The Ministry has also urged the Hindu citizens of Afghanistan to provide their authentic documents and information to provincial technical teams if necessary so that necessary actions can be taken.
The Ministry of Justice continues to claim that the Commission for Prevention of Land Grabbing has so far retrieved close to two million jeribs (a unit of land measurement) of grabbed land from the hands of usurpers and powerful individuals to their rightful owners.
