Amid growing instability and sharp rise in criminal incidents in Kabul city, an Afghan reporter was left traumatized and in a state of despair after he was robbed at gunpoint close to police police station in the city.
Sediq Murowat, who is working as a reporter in Pashto edition of Khaama Press News Agency, was attacked and robbed by three armed men close to his home in the 5th district of the city.
Murowat had just returned from a relative’s house when the armed robbers attacked him at around 7:30 pm on Monday.
According to Murowat, the incident took place close to police station where the armed thieves initially attacked him after intimidating him with knives and later robbed him at gunpoint after he showed resistance, snatching all his personal belongings including his two cell phones and wallet.
He also added that the attack left him traumatized and in a state of despair as the city police not only showed up but failed to investigate the incident after they (police) promised to take immediate steps within the next few minutes.
This comes as criminal incidents are on the rise in the key cities of the country including capital Kabul amid deteriorating security situation during which several people lost their lives.
