The police forces in soutehrn Kandahar province killed two kidnappers who had abducted and murdered a 10-year-old boy in Kandahar city a while ago.

Gen. Tadin Khan Achakzai, the Police Chief of Kandahar said the police forces killed the two kidnappers late on Tuesday night.

He said the two kidnappers opened fire on police forces during an operation which they (police forces) had launched to arrest
the perpetrators.

Gen. Tadin Khan further added that the police forces responded to the fire which resulted in the killing of the two kidnappers.

Criminal incidents involving kidnappings for ransom and murder are on the rise in the key provinces and cities of the country.

This comes despite the security forces have launched major operations to curb the activities of the criminal gangs which resulted into the elimination of various criminal kingpins in Kabul and other parts of the country.
