The Afghan National Security Council chaired by the Afghan president Hamid Karzai on Sunday decided to include all the provincial central cities should be included in the third phase of security transition from the NATO troops to Afghan security forces.
Around 122 administrative units will be covered under the third phase of security transition process.
According to a statement released by Afghan presidential palace, around 260 administrative units across the country will be transitioned to Afghan security forces by implementing the third phase of security transition where more than 75% of the securities will be handed over to Afghan security forces.
The statement further added, eleven provinces will be completely handed over to Afghan security forces once the third phase of security transition completes.
Afghan presidential palace officials also said Uruzgan, Kapisa and Parwan provinces of Afghanistan will be completely handed over to Afghan security forces.
According to reports Afghan defense ministry, Afghan interior ministry, Afghan intelligence (National Directorate for security) and the Directorate for the local governance have been instructed to step up strict measures for the implementation of security transition.
The national Security Council following their meeting also instructed the security transition commission to start work for the fourth face of security transition.
