The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai reacted to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s recent remarks about Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim.
The former president said in a statement ‘Unfortunately, indecent remarks were made about Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim during one of the election rallies.’
Karzai further added that he found Marshal Fahim a dignified, patriotic, religious and a committed personality to the national interests of Afghanistan and unity of the Afghan people, during his two presidential terms when the Marshal was serving as Vice President of the country.
This comes as President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani recently claimed during an election rally that he used to oppose implementing the decrees of Marshal Fahim while serving as finance minister.
President Ghani went on to claim that in one instance he even tore a decree of the Marshal in the presence of cabinet ministers.
The Foundation of Marshal Fahim immediately reacted to President Ghani’s claims, emphasizing that Mr. Ghani was not in a position on political and governmental level at that time which could be considered as proportional to his claims.
