Afghan President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the US airstrike in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan which left at least three civilians dead.
Local authorities in eastern Khost province said at least three civilians including a woman and two children were killed in the airstrike.
The officials further added that the airstrike was carried out in Nader Shah Kot district on Monday night.
The victims of the incident were members of a single family, the officials said, adding that the father of the children was injured following the airstrike.
President Karzai quoted in a statement issued by Presidential Palace media office said that the airstrike by US forces was a violation of the agreement between the two nations.
Karzai also ordered provincial governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi and other security officials in Khost province to launch an investigation regarding the incident.
