Karzai and ObamaAfghan president Hamid Karzai has accused Washington of behaving like a colonial power and criticized US officials to pressure the Afghan government for signing the bilateral security agreement.

“If you don’t sign the agreement, we will provoke fighting in your country, we will cause trouble,” Karzai told Le Monde.

“Even if they are serious, they can’t push us up against the wall,” Karzai said, adding that, “What I’ve been hearing in recent days and heard in the past is classic colonial exploitation.”

He also added that the people of Afghanistan will not accept the pressures by United States. “Afghans will not submit, they have already fought colonial masters,” Karzai said.
