Pakistan Foreign Ministry said in a statement, that Ustad Karim Khalili, Leader of Hezb-e-Islami and former Vice President will be visiting the country from 11th to 13th of January 2021.
A high ranking delegation will be led by Khalili to Pakistan on Monday, Khalili is due in Pakistan for talks.
During his visit, Khalili is expected to meet Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country’s Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, and Foreign Minister Sohail Mahmood.
Khalili is scheduled to meet other political dignitaries during his visit to Pakistan.
Khalili’s visit to Pakistan is part of “Pakistan’s ongoing policy to reach out to political leadership in Afghanistan to forge a common understanding on the Afghan peace process” statement read.
The visit is part of deepening “people to people linkages”, the statement indicates Pakistan’s brotherly relations with Afghanistan are deeply rooted and both countries have a shared history, faith, culture, traditions, values, and cultural similarities.
Pakistan Foreign Ministry stated, that Pakistan is fully prepared to “supports all efforts for peace, stability, and prosperity of the Afghan people”.
The government of Pakistan reiterated its commitment and loyalty for a prolonged peace in Afghanistan.
In the released statement Pakistan stressed that the nation remains “steadfast in its support for an inclusive, broad-based and comprehensive political solution of the conflict in Afghanistan through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process”.
