Kabul’s fiery incident leaves 9 people dead, injures 14

At least ten people were wounded in a fire that broke out at a fuel station in PD 17 in Kabul city on Saturday evening, the Interior Ministry (MoI) said.

Ministry of Interior Affairs on Sunday said that at least nine people were killed and further 14 others were wounded when a fire broke out at a gas station in PD 17 of Kabul city on Saturday evening.

MoI reported that the fire storm occurred in the Karez-Mir area in Shakardara district of Kabul province.

According to MoI, dozens fuel tankers close to the station also caught fire in which 14 people were injured.

The blaze broke out at a fuel tanker leaving nine people dead, MoI said.

Following the fire break out several explosions were also heard in the area, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

It is reported that some looters taking the opportunity, robbed some homes during the incident and 7 of them were also caught following the incident, district governor Ghawhar Khan Baburi told media.
