The police forces in Kabul have arrested at least 566 people on various criminal charges amid ongoing efforts to curb the criminal related incidents.
The Kabul police and Criminal Investigation Department officials said the suspects were arrested during the separate operations conducted during the past two months.
The officials further added that the suspects were held on charges of murder, armed robbery, kidnappings, sale of alcohol and drugs, and other criminal related incidents.
According to the security officials, the security forces have also confiscated weapons, ammunition, alcohol, drugs, and other items from the detained individuals.
This comes as there has been a sharp rise in criminal-related incidents in Kabul city and other key cities of the country during the recent years.
The observers believe the majority of such incidents have links to growing poverty in the country.
