Saturday, September 17, 2011 – According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo Japan, the airfield rehabilitation contract of the Kabul International Airport has been awarded to a Japanese firm.
The statement issued by Afghan Embassy on Friday further added, the rehabilitation contract was given to Dai Nippon Construction firm last month, which is having a legacy on projects in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, the project will start from March 2012 and is scheduled for completion by September 2013.
While speaking at the signing ceremony, Afghan Ambassador to Japan Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie said, the project was important because it helped Afghanistan’s efforts to create effective transport systems.
