Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is the subject of interest for Italian giants Juventus, according to reports.

The Brazilian has been a mainstay in Jurgen Klopp’s side since the German’s arrival, scoring 98 goals in 327 appearances after joining from Hoffenheim in 2015.

But with the signing of Darwin Nunez and the previous addition of Diogo Jota, Firmino’s influence will now be limited to mostly substitute appearances.

He did score 11 goals in 35 matches last campaign, with three in the knockout rounds of the Reds run to the UEFA Champions League final.

Juventus are looking to add foil to their new star man Dusan Vlahovic, who arrived from Fiorentina last January.

After several season without a Scudetto, Massimiliano Allegri will be keen to topple the Milan monopoly once more.

And with Firmino in the last year of his Liverpool contract, both the club and the player’s entourage have to make a decision as to whether it is worth keeping the 30-year-old at the club in a reduced role.

According to Tutto Juve, the Juventus’ management would have ‘presented a formal offer’ of €23m to Liverpool for the Brazilian.

In contrast, however, reports have come out from the Liverpool Echo which say that Firmino is still a very highly valued member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad despite his limited minutes.

There is rumour of Liverpool switching to a more fluid 4-2-3-1 system which could see Firmino return to his former position in the number ten role.

This is where he made his name in the Bundesliga, and attracted Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool to him in the first place.

It remains to be seen how big a role he will play or whether he will sign a new deal, but Firmino will be wished well regardless of his future plans.
