Japan hosts International Conference for Afghanistan

According to officials in Afghan Presidential Palace, Japan is due to host an international economical forum for Afghanistan.

Afghan Presidential Palace officials following a statement on Wednesday said, Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Koichiro Gemba following a meeting with the Afghan president Hamid Karzai the International Conference on Afghanistan in Tokyo and urged for his participation in the conference.

The statement further added, both sides discussed the International Economical conference for Afghanistan which is expected to be organized in the month of July.

Koichiro Gemba Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister during his meeting with the Afghan officials urged the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan to have close cooperations with the Embassy of Japan in Afghanistan and work on various development projects to share them in Tokyo conference.

Japan is considered to be one of the major donors and has played a vital role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan during the past ten years.

The International Community is expected a long term committment beyond 2014 during the Tokyo International Conference on Afghanistan.

The conference is expected to be organized during the month of July this year.
