The Afghan forces recaptured the Jaghatoo district of Ghazni province after almost two years, the Ministry of Defense said.

According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, the security forces captured the district during Mubeen-2 opertions on Saturday.

The statement further added that the security forces conducted the operation with the support of the air power.

Furthermore, the defense ministry said the security forces inflicted casualties on militants as well and defused many improvised explosive devices during the operation.

The defense ministry also added that Jaghatoo is a key a district which links Malistan, Jaghoori, Ajristan and Nawa districts with the provincial capital of Ghazni.

The security forces have so far conducted three major operations in Ghazni as part of Mubeen operations for the past 19 days, the defense ministry of added.
